With the support of family, friends, and teammates from the Paco Cuesta Boxing Club, young Roberto Mendoza, known as “Pajarito,” made his professional debut in Tijuana and won a unanimous decision.
The Rosarito native showcased his skills in the first round with lateral movements and precise distance management, gradually closing in on his opponent and pressuring him against the ropes.
Once in position, Mendoza unleashed combinations that landed directly on his rival’s face, only to step back and reset the distance.
In the second round, always keeping his guard up, Mendoza’s opponent—who had also studied him in the first round—began throwing straight punches. However, Mendoza countered effectively, dominating the round with his precision and defense.
By the third round, Mendoza was in full control, following the strategy and instructions from his trainer and Intercontinental Champion, Paco Cuesta.
In the fourth and final round, Mendoza pushed his opponent into the corners and along the ropes, delivering combinations that left his rival on the defensive.
The two fighters engaged in an intense exchange, trading blows in close combat, face to face, throughout the three minutes of the final round until the bell signaled the end of the match.
The judges unanimously awarded the decision to Mendoza in his professional debut.
