More than 300 volleyball players gathered at Rosarito’s central beach over the final weekend of June for the annual International Mex Volleyball tournament, bringing two days of competition and a lively, family-friendly atmosphere to the city’s shoreline.

Forty courts were set up along the beach, where 350 players competed on Saturday and Sunday in men’s and women’s divisions. The tournament featured both amateur and professional athletes from Mexico and other countries.

Spectators lined the courts throughout the weekend, cheering on competitors as English-language chants from families and groups of friends echoed across the beach during the matches.

Held each year in Rosarito, the tournament has become a tradition for beach volleyball enthusiasts, combining competitive play with the city’s coastal setting.

According to International Mex Volleyball, Rosarito’s central beach provides an ideal venue with its wide stretch of sand, allowing space for competition as well as music throughout the day and food and beverage vendors serving tournament attendees.

The event was supported by a well-known beachfront venue adjacent to the competition area that has earned a reputation for hosting international music events.

Tournament organizers also highlighted the event’s zero-tolerance policy against cheating, a standard they say helps ensure fair play throughout the competition.
