Rosarito will continue offering free pet sterilization clinics every third Sunday of the month, with future events expected to rotate through neighborhoods to make the service more accessible for residents. The city also continues to provide free rabies vaccinations and flea-and-tick treatment year-round through its Animal Control office.
Alejandro Alonso Rodríguez, director of Animal Rights and Welfare, said the city’s latest sterilization clinic drew strong participation from pet owners. The event was held at the Animal Control office on Jesús Leyva Torres Street in the Ampliación Benito Juárez neighborhood.
Future clinics are expected to be held in different neighborhoods to make the free service more convenient for residents who are unable to travel to the Animal Control office. Exact dates, times and locations will be announced through the city’s official social media channels.
Free rabies vaccinations and flea-and-tick treatment are available at the Animal Control office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents with questions about sterilization services for male and female pets can call 661-104-5492 or send WhatsApp messages to 661-112-7241.
Alonso Rodríguez said the department also carries out fumigation campaigns at schools during school breaks with support from state authorities, as well as at community centers.
He encouraged pet owners to learn more about the sterilization program, saying it helps reduce pet abandonment and the number of stray dog packs reported in neighborhoods.
