With the recreation of the character Rosarita, portrayed by actress Úrsula Tania Mansur, the Rosarito Beach Hotel will depict its history in an educational video to celebrate its centennial anniversary.
Through this emblematic character, based on a founder of the hotel, María Luisa Chabert, the video will illustrate the history of the hotel and the life of the actress, who married Manuel Barbachano.
Úrsula Tania Mansur holds a degree in Hispanic American Language and Literature from UABC, with specialized studies in children’s and youth literature.
As a high school teacher, she was distinguished for inspiring an educational model based on storytelling, narration, and public speaking. Her methodology was recognized for making historical subjects interesting and engaging for many students who found them dull.
She combined her profession with acting and began a long and successful career in cinema, participating in numerous films as a leading actress, writer, and screenwriter.
Currently, she is focused on productions that revive historical characters like Rosarita in the context of the hotel’s 100-year history.
“I am very happy that the hotel invited me to participate in its anniversary, especially thanks to Hugo Antonio Torres and Marketing Manager Elisa Calvillo.
“As an actress, I have revived several historical characters from Baja California, such as the legend of Queen Calafia, which I also made into a film and a book. I am also the legendary pharaoh of Aguacaliente.
“And just now, while I was making a promotional video about the historical buildings of Baja California, this invitation coincided perfectly.”
She described the character of Rosarita as a strong-willed woman, proud of Mexican traditions, talented, and “flirtatious.” The video will be shared on YouTube and social media so that people can learn about the history of the hotel in an engaging way.
