Thirty-five uniforms recently were delivered to both temporary and permanent Rosarito lifeguards to better identify them while working. The uniform consists of shorts, flip-flops, a shirt, and a jacket.
Aaron González Casillas, the coordinator of the Water Rescue Division, explained that these uniforms identify the lifeguards on the beach, making them visible to bathers who might need assistance.
Additionally, the high-quality clothing helps protect lifeguards from the sun and the breeze.
He noted that with the announcement of the beaches deemed safe for recreation, they expect a larger number of bathers. Beaches always have a considerable number of visitors despite the cold water and cloudy weather.
Following the announcement of beaches being free from high levels of contamination, the 20 temporary lifeguards and 10 permanent lifeguards are now ready to welcome tourists.
“Regardless of the weather, there are always people at the beach on Saturdays and Sundays,” he said. “Once the vacation season starts, it is certain that more families will come to enjoy time at the beach.”
