The first session of the State Advisory Council for Film Sessions was held with the aim of fostering the development of the film industry in the region.
The council is composed of representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors. The meeting took place at the Baja California Center.
Rosarito authorities highlighted the municipality’s potential as an ideal destination for the film industry due to its diverse natural settings, tourism infrastructure, and strategic location.
Therefore, collaborative efforts between authorities and the private sector can position the film industry in Baja California as a magnet for investment and creative talent.
Local producers emphasized the need for support for the film industry, including greater assistance in conducting their productions and streamlining the permit process to avoid bureaucratic complications and time losses.
They stressed the importance of having economic incentives to realize their film projects, proposing a jury to evaluate and determine recipients of financial support among local producers.
Therefore, it is necessary for both the private sector and the government to support the region’s film industry through direct assistance or agreements to reduce production costs, noting that this industry contributes significantly to sectors such as hospitality and restaurants.
