More than 100 artists participated in an art and book exhibition at the fourth edition of Artwalk Rosarito, held on May 25 and 26 at the State Center for the Arts (CEART).

The free event took place during the last weekend of May to take advantage of the influx of tourists for Memorial Day Weekend.

Artists showcased disciplines including painting, photography, sculpture, intervention, object art, drawing, printmaking, and collage.

Artists, craftsmen, and designers from the border region of Baja California and the United States participated, along with special guests from Oaxaca, Mexico City, Jalisco, and Morelos.

“This art fair aims to develop an art market, which in turn fosters social interaction, binational integration, and cultural tourism, where the audience can enjoy visual arts and literature,” said Benito del Águila, director of Artwalk Rosarito.

The exhibition titled “Unique Lands / Identities of Baja California” was inaugurated at the International Gallery of CEART Rosarito.

This exhibition features established and emerging artists who address Baja California as a theme, not only through its landscapes, iconography and characters but also through textures and colors. This exhibition will be open to the public for seven weeks.

Additionally, there were eight literary presentations and book signings by prominent Baja Californian writers, covering genres such as narrative, poetry, novels, biography, and photo books, coordinated by poet and writer Adolfo Morales.

Two interactive activities were also included: the Frida Experience, where visitors could physically recreate the painting “The Two Fridas;” and the House of La Catrina, allowing the public to interact with the character and take photos.

This event was supported by the Baja California Secretary of Tourism, the Baja California Secretary of Culture, COTUCO Rosarito, and the Trust for the promotion of the municipality.
