Rosarito has beaches suitable for recreation, according to the State Commission for the Protection against Health Risks (COEPRIS), based on their most recent sampling.

The agency reported that 21 out of 26 beaches in the region are in good sanitary condition for recreational use, meaning Baja California offers optimal conditions for local and international families to vacation with the assurance that most of its beaches are safe for bathers during the summer season.

This indicates that the majority of the beaches comply with the Official Mexican Standard and are a healthy alternative for people.

Additionally, COEPRIS reported that they have conducted inspections of public swimming pools in the municipalities, which meet sanitary standards to protect the health of swimmers. Hotel pools are also inspected throughout the summer to ensure they are properly chlorinated and maintained.

Beaches not suitable for recreation are located in Tijuana. Preventive measures have been taken to alert and inform residents and tourists about the poor water quality at San Antonio del Mar, Baja Malibú, Playa Blanca, La Mojonera, and Parque México beaches.

These bodies of water are outside the acceptable contaminant range for swimming. It is important to remember that beach care is a shared responsibility, so families visiting the beaches are encouraged to take precautions regarding wave conditions, temperatures, and the safety of children to prevent accidents.
