Two young Rosaritenses from the Velazco Sports Club competed in the CONADE National Games 2024.
Although they did not win medals, they gained valuable experience and heightened competitiveness by competing alongside the top athletes in the country.
Siria Castro Torres, a COBACH student, participated in the discus throw in the U18 category, while José Isaac Galindo Gómez competed in the high jump in the U20 category.
Nerves affected Siria Castro Torres, preventing her from achieving her best mark from the regional stage and placing her in sixth place. Had she achieved her best mark, she would have secured second place and a silver medal.
Meanwhile, José Isaac Galindo Gómez finished in 12th place nationally, but his participation holds promise for continued growth in future tournaments.
Despite not winning medals, their coach, Velazco, expressed satisfaction with their performance and the level they demonstrated by competing with the best athletes at the national level, some of whom have experience in world championships.
