The ¡Rosarito a Color! campaign continues to gain momentum as a socially impactful initiative that promotes the transformation and revitalization of public spaces throughout the city, using art as a tool for community cohesion, local identity, and a culture of peace.
The project is led by DIF Playas de Rosarito and the City of Playas de Rosarito, with the support of Tiendas Comex Tijuana, which has contributed donated materials and technical assistance for the artistic interventions—reaffirming its commitment to the region’s social and cultural development.
Activities are carried out under the artistic direction of Enrique Chiu, a renowned artist and cultural promoter known for his work in community art, social muralism, and human-centered programs. Throughout his career, Chiu has developed initiatives that connect art with social causes, promoting values such as inclusion, solidarity, and civic engagement.
Through his ongoing social work and the efforts of the Enrique Chiu International Foundation for a Future for Children A.C., the artist has consistently collaborated with children and young people, using art as an educational and transformative tool. This approach is clearly reflected in the ¡Rosarito a Color! campaign, where family involvement and the participation of new generations are central to the project.
During each intervention day, Enrique Chiu and his team create spaces for connection, dialogue, and learning, where the community does not simply observe but actively takes part in the creation of the murals—strengthening a sense of belonging and positive ownership of public spaces.
The project is supported by municipal departments such as Juventudes Rosarito, Bienestar Playas de Rosarito, and Urban Services, whose coordination has been key to the successful development of activities. Equally important has been the enthusiastic participation of local residents, children, and youth, who have embraced this collective initiative.
The ¡Rosarito a Color! campaign includes the artistic transformation of 11 strategic bridges throughout the city—high-traffic areas that aim to become visual landmarks and symbols of urban identity, generating a lasting positive impact on the city’s image and community spirit.
Through efforts like this, DIF Playas de Rosarito, the City of Playas de Rosarito, Tiendas Comex, and the artistic team led by Enrique Chiu reaffirm their commitment to social development, culture, and the creation of more united, compassionate, and engaged communities.
The campaign will continue in the coming months, expanding to more spaces, encouraging broader civic participation, and offering new opportunities to demonstrate that when art grows from within the community, it has the power to transform realities.
