New facility will include municipal police headquarters and services for residents

Construction is moving forward on new government offices along Benito Juárez Boulevard in Rosarito’s tourist district, a project that will also include a municipal police station for the downtown area.

Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz said demolition work has been completed and crews have moved on to preparing the site for construction of the new facility.

“The site has been cleared and prepared. We do not have a definite date yet, but we hope to inaugurate the downtown delegation by the end of the year,” Adame said.

The new facility will house several government offices and services, including the Youth Institute of Rosarito (IMJUVER), Economic Development and, most importantly, the downtown command post of the Secretariat of Citizen Security.

Residents will also be able to pay certain administrative fines at the facility, allowing them to resolve violations without having to travel to another location.

Adame said the goal is to make the process faster and more transparent while reducing opportunities for irregularities.

“If someone commits an administrative violation, they will be able to pay it quickly there,” she said. “The most important thing we are looking for is to prevent situations that could lead to corruption and make sure people do not have to travel farther to pay a fine.”
