The Rosarito Rotary Club has appointed a new board of directors for the 2025–2027 term, naming Rosario Castillo Zeja as president.

The official swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 1, during a formal event where the rest of the board members also took their oaths to serve alongside Castillo Zeja in the club’s upcoming term.

In his remarks, Castillo Zeja, a local restaurateur, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by fellow Rotarians and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Rosarito community through a series of initiatives aimed at improving local quality of life.

Among the highlighted initiatives is the successful Rosarito Wine Fest, a fundraising event that will celebrate its third edition this year. Proceeds from the festival are directed toward various social causes, including Casa Hogar Horizontes, which supports vulnerable children; the CAM Laboral, a center for children with disabilities; and scholarship programs for youth interested in participating in cultural workshops at CEART Rosarito, led by Marco Antonio Nuño Sánchez.

Outgoing president Daniel Escobar presented a brief report on achievements during his tenure, which included the construction of two psychological counseling offices and a storage facility, as well as the donation of tools and equipment for vocational workshops at the CAM Laboral.

The ceremony was attended by community leaders and friends of the organization, including Patricia Juárez, president of the Playas de Rosarito Rotary Club; Gloria Torres, president of the local Press Club; Carmen de la Toba, international coordinator of the Madrugadores group; and CEART Rosarito coordinator Marco Antonio Nuño Sánchez.

The newly appointed board members are:

  • Vice President: Mario Ciprés Tinoco
  • Secretary: Lorena Durazo
  • Treasurer: Rosio Flores
