With the participation of 56 color guards and 36 drum corps teams from the states of Chihuahua, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Baja California, the National Meeting of Drum Corps and Color Guards was held in Rosarito this past weekend.

The event brought together more than 1,200 attendees across two venues: City Hall, where elementary and middle school teams competed, and Secondary School No. 32, which hosted high school and open division performances.

The competition was inaugurated by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, who emphasized the importance of promoting respect for national symbols and civic values. She praised the young participants, noting that involvement in drum corps and color guard groups instills discipline, excellence, and a deep respect for civic traditions.

“Your participation makes you examples of civic values,” she said, congratulating all teams involved.

Mayor Adame also highlighted Rosarito’s leadership in hosting and promoting these types of events, which have earned the city recognition as a recurring national venue.
