Rosarito’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba, announced that local police will exercise a degree of leniency toward tourists during the summer vacation period, as long as visitors avoid serious offenses or disturbing public order.

During the launch of the city’s summer security operation, Manzo stated that officers have been instructed to apply discretion when interacting with tourists, aiming to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

“We’re asking tourists to be responsible during their stay and avoid behaviors that could lead to police intervention,” Manzo said. “As long as they’re not disturbing public order or acting aggressively, they can enjoy themselves. Our officers are working under guidelines that focus on providing assistance and orientation to visitors. But if there’s a report of disorderly conduct or conflict, they will be brought before a judge, who will determine any necessary sanctions.”

Manzo added that Municipal Police will not set up roadblocks or checkpoints at the city’s entrances during the vacation period. Only inspection points operated by the National Guard and the Federal Government’s Secretariat of Citizen Security will remain in place.

He also emphasized that his office is in ongoing communication with National Guard commanders to ensure that federal officers assigned to Rosarito respect citizens’ rights and avoid any form of misconduct or abuse.
