Playas de Rosarito served as the site of an international wildfire training summit, where more than 180 participants from various regions of Mexico, South America, and the United States gathered for an intensive five-day program.
The training aimed to strengthen technical skills and response capabilities in combating wildfires, with a focus on safeguarding human lives, biodiversity, and natural resources.
This marks the first time the training was held in Rosarito, reaffirming the municipal government’s commitment to public safety, environmental protection, and international cooperation.
The event was made possible through the collaboration of agencies such as CAL FIRE, Mexico’s National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), Civil Protection, as well as local authorities and municipal emergency teams.
Rosarito mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz highlighted the significance of the event in advancing the professionalization of wildfire response teams.
“Rosarito has opened its doors to brave men and women who risk their lives for the common good,” said Adame. “This training not only strengthens our local capacity but also deepens cooperation with other countries for the benefit of our environment.”
