The color guard and banda de guerra (military-style school marching band) from Colegio de Bachilleres (COBACH) Rosarito campus earned the national runner-up title at the 2025 National Color Guard and Marching Band Competition, held in Azcapotzalco, State of Mexico.

On May 1, the Reynosa Sports Complex in Mexico City hosted the annual Calderón National Color Guard Competition. Representing the high school category, the COBACH Rosarito team secured second place in the national rankings.

In Mexico, a banda de guerra is a traditional student group that performs military marches using drums, bugles, and trumpets. These bands typically accompany the flag detail (escolta) during patriotic ceremonies and participate in national parades and competitions.

COBACH Rosarito’s achievement was the result of dedicated teamwork, with standout performances by student Kenya Elizabeth Obeso, who won first place as Best National Flag Bearer, and Monserrat Valera, who took first place as Best Commander.

This annual event gathers color guards and marching bands from across the country. The awards ceremony was led by Azcapotzalco Mayor Nancy Marlenne Núñez Reséndiz, alongside competition judges and event organizers.

The students who comprised the COBACH Rosarito color guard and banda de guerra are Dafne Denisse Obeso Hernández, Kenya Elizabeth Obeso Hernández, Monserrat Valera Ávila, Josseline Ortega, Aislin Zaragoza, Miguel Rodríguez, and Javier Villanueva. The team was trained under the direction of instructor Daniel Porras and accompanied by campus principal Gregorio Bravo.
