With the goal of promoting physical activity and fostering healthy interaction within the school community, the 2024-2025 Basic Education School Sports Games officially began in their municipal stage for secondary schools.
The opening ceremony was held at the Ernesto Ruffo Appel Auditorium, with the attendance of several middle schools, as well as school and municipal authorities.
Rosarito’s Mayor, Rocío Adame Muñoz, reaffirmed her commitment to sports, physical activity, and youth prevention programs in the city.
Luis Gilberto Gallego Cortez, Secretary of Education in Baja California, emphasized that the games aim to instill values through various disciplines such as basketball, chess, track and field, volleyball, and handball, among other sports activities.
Juan Carlos Huerta Ávila, Rosarito’s delegate for the Secretariat of Education, highlighted that 13 public and private primary and secondary schools are participating in this sports event.
Each category will be held at the respective educational institutions, with awards ceremonies for male and female categories scheduled to take place in March.
It is worth noting that local sports institutes will contribute materials for the events to support the competitions.
