For the second consecutive year, the Rosarito-based swimming team Nadadores Rosarito, training at the High-Performance Aquatic Center, took second place in the medal standings at the 2024 National Swimming Championship in the youth category, held in Querétaro.

The Rosarito team claimed a total of 18 medals, including eight gold, three silver, and se venbronze, across combined male and female categories.

First place in the medal tally went to La Loma Querétaro, which won 11 gold, nine silver, and seven bronze medals for a total of 27. Rosarito was just two gold medals shy of tying and three away from taking the top spot.

Third place was claimed by the prestigious Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey team, which amassed 31 medals: seven gold, 17 silver, and seven bronze.

Despite the higher total medal count of the Monterrey team, Nadadores Rosarito demonstrated superior efficiency. Of the 14 athletes who won medals for Rosarito, eight earned gold, surpassing notable teams from Tijuana and Mexicali.

This marks the second year in a row that Nadadores Rosarito has secured the runner-up position at this national championship, reinforcing Baja California’s status as a swimming powerhouse.

Much of this success is attributed to the skilled coaching staff of Nadadores Rosarito led by Erick Galván.
