Rosarito Nadadores secured the runner-up position in swimming at the 2024 Borrego Regional Sports Cup, held at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Nuevo León.
The competition featured over 40 teams from across the country, with various disciplines represented.
The swimmers who competed in this event were Fernanda Elizondo Cabrera, Akhilleys Gonzalez Isiordia, Rogelio Vega Cuevas, Michel Medina Herrera, Alejandro Piña Vera, Isaac Wong, and Josue Camacho Benitez.
The team qualified for multiple finals, earning three first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, a third place, and an eighth place in the men’s 4×50-meter freestyle relay.
Fernanda Elizondo Cabrera, competing in the 13-17 age category, stood out with a first-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle, a second-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly, a first place in the 200-meter medley, another first in the 200-meter backstroke, and another first in the 50-meter freestyle.
Rogelio Vega, also in the 13-17 age category, earned a third-place finish in the 200-meter backstroke, while Alejandro Piña Vera, in the same age group, secured a second-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke.
The Borrego Sports Cup aims to foster camaraderie and strengthen bonds between educational institutions in a spirit of sporting harmony, promoting universal values among students at this traditional event.
