The State Center for the Arts (CEART) hosted the 12th edition of “Opera by the Sea,” a cultural event that has become one of the most significant in the city.
The event featured not only opera but also gastronomy, art exhibitions, and for the first time, a showcase of the Rosarito Operatic Encounter. This new addition brought together expert teachers, professional and semi-professional singers who performed various classical music pieces.
Attendees enjoyed the vibrant Chinese Lion Dance, directed by José René Márquez from the Institute of Chinese Martial Arts and Lion Dance.
CEART coordinator Marco Antonio Nuño Sánchez highlighted that this event has become one of the region’s leading cultural events and provides a remarkable experience for visitors from the United States.
Guests were treated to a diverse operatic program featuring works such as “Pagliacci” by R. Leoncavallo, “La Traviata” by G. Verdi, “The Magic Flute” by W. A. Mozart, “Samson et Dalila” by C. Saint-Saëns, “Carmen” by G. Bizet, “Lakmé” by L. Delibes, “La Bohème” by G. Puccini, “Madame Butterfly” by G. Puccini, and “Tosca.”
Each program block was complemented by intermission activities, including zarzuelas, Arabic dance, choral performances, and musical duets.
Additionally, the event featured the results of the first Rosarito Operatic Encounter, an initiative that brought together emerging and established talents to deliver a first-class performance.
