Rosarito business leaders urged city officials to move forward with a portfolio of long-planned infrastructure projects during a meeting with Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz focused on tourism, economic development and the city’s future growth.
The projects, developed through a comprehensive study funded by the State Development Fund, have yet to be implemented because of a lack of coordination between the business community and previous municipal administrations, business representatives said. They called on the city to work more closely with the private sector to advance the proposals, which are intended to improve Rosarito’s urban infrastructure and strengthen its tourism economy.
The discussion also addressed tourism promotion, public safety, mobility and cross-border connectivity, which business leaders identified as key priorities for the city’s continued growth and competitiveness.
Adame said her administration is committed to reviewing the proposals and following up on the concerns raised during the meeting.
“Our commitment is to continue working hand in hand with the business community to create better conditions for investment, entrepreneurship and job creation,” Adame said. “Listening to their proposals and maintaining a shared agenda allows us to build solutions that strengthen Playas de Rosarito’s competitiveness.”
Business leaders welcomed the mayor’s willingness to meet and expressed confidence that continued collaboration would help advance projects benefiting Rosarito’s economy and tourism.
Among those attending were César Rivera González, president of CCDER; Hugo Antonio Torres Ramírez, chairman of the Rosarito Beach Hotel board of directors; Gustavo Torres Ramírez, CANACO delegate; Rafael Crosthwaite Reyes, representing the Rosarito Furniture and Accessories Manufacturers Association; Javier Hernández Tovalin, representing Unidos por Rosarito; Juan Santana Bosquet, president of the Business Coordinating Council; Economic Development and Tourism Secretary Irán Leonardo Verdugo Contreras; and Economic Development Director Maite Ullate Ritchie.
