Athletes from Rosarito’s “Brechas en el Agua” (Bridges in the Water) program proudly represented the city at the IMDET 2025 Adaptive Swimming Municipal Finals, held on Saturday, October 11, at the CREA Sports Complex pool in Tijuana.

The talented swimmers who brought pride to Rosarito were Monserrat Alatorre Buenrostro, who won gold medals in Backstroke and Freestyle; Mateo Valenzuela Ramírez, who earned a silver medal in Assisted Freestyle; and Nirvana Dávila Argil, who took home a bronze medal in Backstroke.

The IMDET 2025 Adaptive Swimming event, organized by the Tijuana Municipal Sports Institute, highlighted the city’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and adaptive sports, encouraging the participation and recognition of athletes with disabilities.

Prior to the main competition, classification rounds were held at the CREA pool, where participants were evaluated in swimming styles such as freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. These assessments ensured fair and appropriate competition across all categories.

The Rosarito Municipal Sports Institute (IMDER) congratulated the athletes for their dedication and outstanding representation, noting that their perseverance and talent continue to inspire greater inclusion throughout Rosarito.

The swimmers are part of IMDER’s “Brechas en el Agua” program, which offers aquatic physical activity for children with autism and disabilities. The initiative focuses on developing motor and cognitive skills through small-group activities and currently benefits around 40 participants, under the coordination of Javier Palomares Flores.
