Agro-Rosarito, a pilot project featuring products “Made in Rosarito,” was created to boost local entrepreneurs by promoting the growth of small businesses and new ventures.
The initiative brings together Rosarito-based entrepreneurs offering services and products derived from the region’s agricultural and tourism activities. Agro-Rosarito serves as a platform to strengthen the agricultural and artisan sector while encouraging local consumption through the promotion of goods and services produced in the community, highlighting their quality and talent.
The project was introduced by councilmember Alan Bautista Plascencia, president of the Tourism, Economic Development, and Agriculture Commission, who also inaugurated the “Entrepreneur’s Corridor” at the Rosarito Fair. The effort aligns with Mexico’s national “Made in Mexico” policy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum and Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard.
“This is a first step. There are areas for improvement, new spaces and approaches, but the intention is to follow up on these projects and continue inviting entrepreneurs to other events and venues,” Bautista said. He also announced the availability of grants and loans through the State Government, encouraging interested entrepreneurs to reach out to his office for guidance.
In addition, free training sessions will be offered to provide tools on social media and digital marketing, helping entrepreneurs expand their online presence and use digital platforms as sales channels.
According to Bautista, the main benefit is to support family-owned businesses in becoming formal enterprises and integrating into the local production chain with the backing of the newly created Municipal Department of Economy.
He emphasized that locally made products also serve as tourist attractions, further underscoring the importance of supporting these businesses.
