In the coastal town of Primo Tapia, residents are rallying around a common cause: the construction of a much-needed hospital. Their united front has already led to longer operating hours at the local health center and set the stage for a new IMSS Bienestar facility — small but meaningful victories on the road to better healthcare.
At a recent community meeting, Erick Castellanos Sánchez, president of the Primo Tapia Ejidal Commission, credited these gains to the determination of local residents. “Every effort counts,” he said, stressing that the campaign to bring an emergency hospital to the area will require patience and persistence.
Federal representative Evangelina Moreno joined residents at the meeting, adding her support to the project. In the coming days, an information campaign will aim to reach the delegation’s 25,000 residents, encouraging them to join the movement that many hope will transform healthcare in Primo Tapia.
