The city is planning the construction of a new municipal linear and themed park along what was initially known as Poliducto Boulevard, authorities have confirmed.
The first two streets included in this park project are already part of the priority works package of the current government, according to Urban Development Secretary, Engineer Luis Fernando González Vergara.
The goal is to provide the city with a new gathering place and a space for healthy family activities. The project aims to enhance the urban landscape between the Lucio Blanco and Constitución neighborhoods, near Rosarito’s industrial zone.
The park proposal has already been submitted to the Federal Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (SEDATU) for evaluation and potential inclusion in their budget plans.
The designated area is federal land beneath high-voltage transmission towers and power lines running through this part of the city. The plan seeks to utilize the green spaces within the safety zone of these structures.
This project was preliminarily presented during the last City Council session, where opposition council members Ricardo Martínez Cabrales and Yanneth Sepúlveda urged the inclusion of pedestrian and accessibility needs for people with disabilities.
They also emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality construction with proper guarantees. Additionally, during meetings with federal officials, they took the opportunity to call on CFE to address the frequent power outages affecting the city.
