A two-day cultural festival will mark the opening of the new Centro Cultural Rosarito on Aug. 8–9 at Parque Abelardo L. Rodríguez, bringing together a broad range of artistic and cultural activities, city officials announced.

The festival will officially open the new cultural center and feature a variety of artistic disciplines alongside programs focused on social sciences, local history, memory and cultural heritage.

“The festival is being designed to showcase every form of artistic expression, while also highlighting social sciences, history, memory and cultural heritage, because the mission of this new space is to promote Rosarito’s art, culture, history, memory and cultural heritage,” said Josué Beltrán Cortés, director of Cultural Heritage and Inclusion for the Municipal Secretariat of Culture.

The new facility will also house the city’s Historical Archive on the second floor, along with offices for the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, the Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture.

“On those days, we’ll open our doors and welcome everyone—not only those visiting the Secretariat of Culture or the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture for services, but also anyone interested in learning about Rosarito’s art, history, memory and cultural heritage,” Beltrán Cortés said.

The center will include a multipurpose room with ocean views, a music room, library, visual arts studio, dance studio, theater space and an outdoor performance venue for live music, singing, dance and other performing arts.
