As part of its Water Culture Program, the State Public Services Commission of Tijuana (CESPT) has launched an innovative mobile application for iOS and Android devices that allows users to easily monitor and optimize their water consumption.
“This new digital tool lets users simulate consumption, generate reports, detect anomalies or possible leaks, and includes educational content to encourage sustainable habits,” the agency said in a statement.
CESPT director general Jesús García Castro explained that the app helps households adopt practices that can reduce water use, lowering bills while contributing to conservation efforts. It is the first application of its kind in Baja California, developed with joint funding split equally between federal and state governments.
Available for free download under the name Cultura del Agua CESPT on both the App Store and Google Play, the app features six key sections: a consumption simulator, water footprint calculator, bill payment reminders, educational resources, interactive games for children and youth, and expense comparisons.
It also provides practical tips for detecting and repairing leaks, along with information about the importance of water conservation.
“Our goal is for every user to become a water guardian in their own home,” García Castro said.
