Internationally acclaimed baritone and Doctor of Musical Arts, Carlos Conde González, will return to direct Ópera Frente al Mar for the second time on Saturday, August 16, at the open-air esplanade of CEART Rosarito. Admission is free.

Now in its 13th year, the Rosarito Opera Gathering (Encuentro Operístico Rosarito) has grown into a key cultural event, promoting operatic art within the local community and attracting cultural tourism to the region.

The goal of Ópera Frente al Mar is to make opera accessible to all—regardless of age or income—by offering an outdoor performance that breaks down socioeconomic barriers often associated with classical music. The event also serves as a platform to nurture and showcase local talent in lyrical music.

The involvement of Carlos Conde González adds a high level of professionalism and artistic depth to the festival. A nationally respected voice pedagogue, Conde has been leading the Rosarito Opera Gathering and the Vocal Pedagogy Chair at CEART Playas de Rosarito since 2024.

He was recently honored with the Somos Música Award, presented by Banda MS founder Maestro Sergio Lizárraga, and recognized by the Sinaloa Institute of Culture for his exceptional artistic and educational contributions.

Organizers invite the public to experience the magic of opera—from its creative preparation to its live performance—at this unique cultural event by the sea.
