More than 200 runners gathered on the morning of Sunday, May 11, to take part in the “Arena y Asfalto 5K,” a footrace that forms part of the Circuito Imponente 2025. With cool and pleasant weather as the backdrop, participants began their route at Rosarito’s central beach and continued through city streets, including the busy Benito Juárez Boulevard, completing a five-kilometer course.

The event was organized by the long-established Club Jaguares, a local athletics organization that has promoted fitness, community, and youth development in Rosarito for over a decade. The Municipal Sports Institute praised the club’s commitment to fostering healthy habits and family involvement through sports.

Participants ranged from children to teenagers and entire families, navigating a mixed-terrain route that challenged runners with both sand and pavement.

In the women’s category, Vianey Santaclara claimed first place, followed by Lupita Cano and Ariana Ávila. In the men’s category, Rolando Real took first, with Pablo González in second and Richard Pérez in third.

Among young runners, Leah Esquivel won the girls’ division, with Valentina Reyes and Leyla Miranda finishing second and third. In the boys’ division, Emiliano Paez secured first place, followed by Dario Díaz and Isaac Guzmán.

Francisco Martínez, coordinator of Club Jaguares, announced that their next race will take place in June as part of the team’s 17th anniversary celebration. Proceeds will support the club’s ongoing mission to train local youth and help shape them into responsible, community-minded adults.
