An inscription on the main entrance to the iconic Rosarito Beach Hotel  & Spa reads: “Through this door pass the most beautiful women in the world.”

Some great couples also walk through the entrance to the beachfront resort, which will begin its 101st year this July. And this year they will have two choices to celebrate Valentine’s Day, one on Feb. 14 and one on Feb. 15.

From 5 to 11pm on Feb. 14, the elegant Chabert’s Resturant & Bistro, once part of the mansion of the founding family, will offer a four-course dinner, featuring a Venus salad and pistachio and bacon cream soup.

Entrée is a choice of chicken breast in pink mole sauce, beef tenderloin with a red wine demi-glace, or amore salmon. Dessert is cheese mousse with berries. The Chabert’s dinner is 975 pesos per person and reservations can be made by calling +52-661-612-1126.

On Feb. 15 starting at 6pm in the Mexicano Salon & Museum, the resort offers a scrumptious buffet with live music and dancing for everyone age 14 and older. The 899 pesos per person admission includes three drinks of domestic beer or liquor for each adult.

Reservations for this gala can be made by calling 1-800-343-8582 or visiting eventbrite.com.

The hotel held its grand opening on July 27, 1924 as a 10-room roadhouse in a largely unpopulated area less than 20 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. Since, it has grown into Baja’s largest and best known full-service resort, with 500 rooms and suites in three towers.

Many millions of people, including galaxy Hollywood stars and world leaders, have visited or stayed at the historic hotel.
