As well as joy, the year-end holiday season is a time for looking back and looking ahead, for celebrations and resolutions.
At the Rosarito Beach Hotel & Spa, we are doing that even more this year. The hotel reached its 100th anniversary on July 27, and we celebrated with many events, as we honored the past while planning for the future.
On Oct. 31, our family patriarch Hugo Eduardo Torres, my father, passed at the age of 88. Although saddened, my family was comforted because he was able to celebrate the centennial with us, an event that was very important to him.
Before retiring several years ago, he oversaw the hotel’s largest expansion, as it grew from a 10-room roadhouse to a full-service beachfront resort with 500 rooms and suites, the largest in Baja. His beloved Rosarito grew with it.
We remain committed to the vision of success and service that he had for the Rosarito Beach Hotel and for the region. We hope that he would be proud of our ongoing efforts.
We also are so thankful for the millions of visitors and guests that we have hosted over the past century. We know that we owe our longevity and growth to them, and we extend to them our heartfelt thanks, as well as the warmest holiday greetings.
The Rosarito Beach Hotel for decades has been about preserving the past in architecture, art and fine furnishings, while planning for the future, as shown in our 17-story oceanfront Pacifico Tower, with 271 suites and contemporary amenities.
Even while celebrating our past this year, we were preparing for our future, refurbishing, adding artwork and a small chapel by the sea.
The Rosarito Beach Hotel has been at the heart of the growth of Rosarito and the vibrant tourist region around it. Just how important the region has become is shown by Mexico’s decision to holding its national tourist fair here for first time.
Baja California will host the Tiangus Turistico, a major binational event, which is also the most important tourism event in Latin America, from April 28 to May 1, 2025 at the Baja California Center, adjacent to the scenic highway in Rosarito.
The Tiangus Turistico is the most significant event in Mexico’s tourism sector, and likely will attract tens of thousands of visitors and international media coverage.
In the meantime, we hope to see many longtime friends and first-time visitors this holiday season, and in the future. And our Rosarito Beach Hotel family wishes a happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year to all.
And once again: “Gracias a todos” (thanks to all) for your support. We hope that 2025 is full of peace and harmony for all.”
