The holiday season is here, bringing with it increased mobility due to year-end celebrations. However, it also comes with greater risks, which is why the Ministry of Health has issued key recommendations to help you enjoy the festivities safely.
ON THE ROAD: SAFETY FIRST
During travel and commutes, it’s essential to protect both yourself and others. Here are some crucial recommendations to avoid accidents:
- Do not drive under the influence of alcohol
- Avoid distractions: use your phone only when it’s safe
- Always wear your seatbelt
- Respect speed limits
- If riding a motorcycle, don’t forget your helmet!
- Proper child seats for children
AT HOME: VIGILANCE AND PREVENTION
Most unintentional accidents happen at home, especially during the holidays. Take precautions with these tips:
- Check for gas leaks and ensure everything is in order
- Keep electrical connections secure
- Clear hazardous areas in yards and gardens
AT PARTIES: CONTROL AND CARE
Celebrations can be fun, but they can also be dangerous if not handled properly. Here are some tips to keep everything under control:
- Moderate alcohol and food consumption to avoid intoxication
- Keep an eye on children: keep them away from fireworks, they’re dangerous!
- Monitor children’s well-being: any sudden mood changes could be a warning sign
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
If an incident occurs, don’t hesitate to call 911. If you suspect someone has been injured or poisoned, seek medical attention immediately.
Remember: Safety starts at home, but extends to every place we go. Stay alert, take care of yourself and others, and enjoy a safe and happy holiday season.
