Real estate agents gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) in Playas de Rosarito.

The organization was founded in the city by Gustavo Torres, who continues to play a key role in promoting professionalism in the local real estate industry.

Mr. Torres, vice president of AMPI Rosarito, highlighted the association’s significant achievements over the past two decades, including the professionalization of real estate agents who now provide a higher level of security for clients and investors in Rosarito.

“The challenge over these 20 years has been ensuring that each real estate agent is registered with the tax authorities and fully trained to serve clients appropriately,” he stated.

He noted that while some agents prefer selling solely through social media, AMPI emphasizes the importance of formal training to protect clients and build trust.

The number of real estate agents in Rosarito has grown substantially, with many now registered either with AMPI or the Rosarito Association of Real Estate Professionals (APIR).

Starting with about 15 members, the community has expanded to over 100 agents, both local and international.

Mr. Torres added that AMPI also provides training programs for those entering the real estate field, helping them obtain their real estate licenses.

“It’s not just about having a license; it’s about taking the necessary courses to earn it. Staying up-to-date through training is essential,” he emphasized.

AMPI’s commitment to education and industry standards has shaped Rosarito’s real estate market, fostering an environment of security and professionalism for both agents and clients alike.
