Baja California will close the year with a variety of sports events, including participation in the 2024 CONADE Paranational Games, said Laura Marmolejo Toscano, the General Director of the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture (INDE) in Baja California.
The official noted that athletes will compete until Oct. 8 in Oaxaca de Juárez and the Tlaxcala subsede during the 2024 CONADE Paranational Games. Another event they are supporting is the National Baseball Championships.
Additionally, the successful Baja California Mexican Open Surfing Championship met competitors’ expectations for the second time, solidifying the state as the host for this important national competition.
She stated that the Institute has recorded over 5,000 athletes across various categories, indicating that Baja California is a state with strong national sports potential.
Marmolejo added that there are 52 civil associations promoting sports; however, not all are properly registered with the tax authorities and a notary public, which limits their ability to receive subsidies from the Institute.
