With the presence of various business leaders and authorities from all levels of government, Gov. Marina Del Pilar Ávila Olmeda and Federal Tourism Secretary Miguel Torruco Marqués installed the Organizing Mommittee for Tianguis Turístico México 2025.
Baja California will host this major binational event, which is also the most important tourism event in Latin America.
The Tianguis Turístico will take place from April 28 to May 1, 2025, and is the most significant event in the country’s tourism sector.
It serves as a business forum based on pre-arranged meetings between buyers and exhibitors, aiming to promote and market Mexico’s tourism products and services by showcasing the country’s offerings and diversity to national and international markets.
Prior to the installation, discussions were held regarding the strengths, challenges, and benefits that an event of such magnitude represents for the state’s tourism sector.
Among these benefits, the governor highlighted that various road projects connecting Tijuana and Rosarito will be completed this year. This road infrastructure will be ready before the start of the Tianguis Turístico México 2025.
Miguel Torruco, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, emphasized the importance of this binational event, stating, “If we don’t have tourism products, we have nothing to offer.”
He highlighted that the country ranks seventh worldwide in hotel infrastructure, generating 8.7 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, which represents more than four million jobs, or 9 percent of total employment at the national level.
Meanwhile, State Secretary Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez noted that Baja California is the first border state to host the Tianguis Turístico, expecting a record attendance of tour operators. The event will also feature investors and top operating agents from various countries such as Italy, Japan, China, and the United States.
Additionally, 350 operators will visit the state, and routes to various tourist spots will be organized to showcase Baja California as a competitive and internationally renowned tourist destination.
For the first time, the Tianguis Turístico México 2025 will have a binational edition, offering a unique opportunity to access the vast market of the southern United States, especially California, Arizona, and Nevada.
The event will provide accommodations in 32 five-star hotels for participants and will establish seven road transport routes while promoting established air routes.
