reading to Rancho 40

For the third consecutive year, the civil association Amigos de la Biblioteca is offering a summer course focused on promoting reading and other activities in the Rancho 40 community.

This year, the Amigos de la Biblioteca’s summer program aims to identify the unique characteristics of the community where the participants live.

In the first of five sessions, they read stories and went out to explore the flora and fauna of Rancho 40, a location far from the center of Rosarito, nestled at the base of El Coronel Hill.

Through this activity, chosen by the community itself, participants learned more about their immediate surroundings, developing a sense of belonging and identity that encourages them to care for and love their neighborhood.

As part of the summer program, a visit to Rancho Guacatay is planned, where participants will have the opportunity to learn about dairy cows, crops, farm animals, composting, and much more.

The program aims to nurture future citizens who are committed to the development of their community and passionate about books.
