The State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COEPRIS) has issued a statement to inform the municipal authority that the beach adjacent to the Pier and the beach adjacent to the former Comercial Mexicana and Riviera Hotel are suitable for recreation.

This follows the latest sampling to analyze their contamination levels.

This study was conducted as part of the “Clean Beaches” program, which monitors the microbiological quality of water in contact with the sea.

It specifically analyzes the levels of enterococcus bacteria in seawater. The sampling results showed levels below 31 particles per 100 milliliters of water, which is below the parameters set by the Official Mexican Standard.

In other words, they are below the permissible limit of 200 NMP/100 ml.

The document addressed to the Municipal Presidency is endorsed by Dr. Rigoberto Isarraraz Hernández, Acting Head of the State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks, and was issued on Monday, May 20th.
