Seeking to strengthen community ties, support violence prevention efforts, and help rebuild the social fabric, the Rosarito City Government brought its “Fair of Peace” program to the José Vasconcelos Library in the Plan Libertador neighborhood last weekend.

The program delivers services identified through prior community assessments conducted by social assistance and health agencies in vulnerable neighborhoods, with the goal of addressing the root causes of issues such as violence and family instability.

The “Attention to the Causes–Territories of Peace” strategy includes initiatives such as door-to-door outreach, identification of at-risk youth, assessments of community needs, rehabilitation of public spaces, strengthening Peace Roundtables, and the creation of municipal peace and civic justice councils.

Hundreds of residents attended the event to access free programs and services provided by government agencies and community organizations participating in the initiative.

In addition to health services, attendees received support in education, civic engagement, culture, and sports, with a focus on improving the well-being of Rosarito families and communities facing the greatest challenges.

During her remarks, Mayor Rocío Adame reaffirmed the Municipal Government’s commitment to continuing community-focused initiatives that promote peace, inclusion, and equitable access to social programs and support services.

“From Playas de Rosarito, we are working together to continue strengthening programs that directly benefit our people, supporting the public policies promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, always placing the well-being of families and care for those most in need at the center,” the mayor said.

The event also featured community activities focused on violence prevention and support for vulnerable youth as part of the national initiative “Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro” (Youth Building the Future).
