Since June 2, the Rosarito Center for the Arts (CEART Rosarito) has been the site of the second International Mexico Symposium, bringing together acclaimed mosaic artists from around the world for a two-week creative residency.
Through June 13, CEART is hosting some of the leading voices in contemporary mosaic art as they produce original works exploring themes of migration, gender, and cultural diversity.
The event, backed by the Rosarito municipal government under Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, is part of a broader cultural tourism initiative led by CEART.
This year’s invited artists come from countries including Canada, Brazil, the United States, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Japan, and Mexico. The symposium is directed by Aida Valencia and Giulio Menossi, both highly regarded in the international mosaic community.
The artists are working daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., developing pieces that will be unveiled in a group exhibition on Saturday, June 14 at 4 p.m. in the CEART conference hall.
“This exhibition reflects twelve days of focused, collaborative work. It’s a chance for the public to see the evolution of each piece up close and understand the process behind it,” said the organizers.
The exhibition will remain on view for nine weeks. Visiting hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
