Mexican Construction Industry Companies (COMICE), in coordination with the State Government through SIDURT, and the municipalities of Rosarito and Tijuana, have joined forces to carry out maintenance and cleaning of Bulevar 2000 ahead of the upcoming Tianguis Turístico.
For three days, COMICE will provide heavy machinery and personnel to support cleaning, maintenance, pothole repairs, drainage clearing, and other improvement works along Bulevar 2000.
In collaboration with SIDURT and the municipal governments of Rosarito and Tijuana, the initiative aims to rehabilitate approximately 25 kilometers of roadway, from the El Refugio junction to Bulevar Popotla.
During the first five kilometers starting from Bulevar Popotla, SIDURT is conducting pothole repairs in the most damaged sections of the road, along with streetlight repairs and other infrastructure improvements.
Beyond the five-kilometer mark toward Tijuana, COMICE will take over the cleaning efforts, deploying approximately 70 machines and more than 100 workers. The three-day operation represents an estimated cost of 2 million pesos, entirely funded by the private construction sector.
At the launch of the program, Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz expressed regret that Bulevar 2000 had gone without proper maintenance for many years. She expressed gratitude for the current coordination between the State Government, the City of Tijuana, and the construction sector, which has made these efforts possible.
Gustavo Torres Ramírez, President of the Rosarito Business Coordinating Council, praised the willingness and openness of the current municipal government to collaborate on projects that benefit the community—an approach he said was lacking in previous administrations.
