The iconic Puerto Nuevo-style lobster dish has been nominated as the Best Traditional Dish in Baja California, while Rosarito has earned a nomination for Best Beach to Discover in 2025—both part of the Lo Mejor de México 2025 awards organized by the travel magazine México Desconocido.
Baja California received a total of six nominations in various experience and destination categories, with Rosarito securing two of those—one for a culinary experience and one as a travel destination.
Through the México Desconocido website, the public can vote for their favorite destinations and experiences. The goal of these awards is to celebrate and recognize, alongside citizens, the best tourism offerings in the country.
The winners will be announced during the Tianguis Turístico México 2025, a major tourism trade event that will be hosted in Baja California, with Rosarito serving as one of the key venues.
The Baja California State Tourism Department noted that the state continues to strengthen its national reputation as a leading tourism destination, as demonstrated by its six nominations in the 2025 awards.
The categories in which Baja California has been nominated reflect the rich diversity of its tourism offerings—from beaches and gastronomy to unique nature and adventure experiences.
