Playa El Bebé served as the vibrant setting for the first stage of the State Shore Fishing Qualifier Tournament, part of the road to the 2025 National Championship.
More than 300 participants competed across various categories on Sunday, March 30.
The event was organized by the sportfishing group Tj Fishing Club and marked the first of three tournaments that make up the state shore fishing qualifier series.
It was supported by the Baja California Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (SEPESCA BC) and sanctioned by the Baja California Association of Fishing Clubs A.C.
Tournament activities began early in the morning, with registrations starting at 5am and the competition officially kicking off at 7am.
Anglers—both recreational and professional—from Ensenada, San Quintín, and Tijuana took part. The weigh-in station closed at 1pm. to give participants ample time to secure a strong catch.
All competitors demonstrated impressive skill and a deep passion for shore fishing, reinforcing their commitment to promoting sportfishing and highlighting the strong sense of camaraderie among anglers. The tournament helped strengthen Baja California’s fishing community while also emphasizing a shared interest in preserving marine resources.
