Thirteen years after first opening its doors, the Boys and Girls Club of Rosarito continues its mission, now calling on promoters, instructors, and volunteer collaborators to support its efforts.
In 2025, the Club is entering a new chapter, seeking volunteers with initiative, creativity, and a strong sense of commitment to help strengthen the organization’s ongoing operations.
After dedicating much of her life to this project, Rosy Torres has announced her retirement as the club’s leading promoter. She is now looking for someone to take up the mantle and bring fresh energy to the institution, though she plans to remain involved.
Today, the Boys and Girls Club operates at full capacity in terms of programs and infrastructure but still relies heavily on financial donations and volunteer instructors to expand its reach.
Verónica Medina Pérez, the Club’s director, shared that approximately 60 children between the ages of six and 16 currently attend on a regular basis.
However, the facility has the capacity to welcome many more. She extended an open invitation to parents to visit and consider enrolling their children.
“We have the space, instructors, and materials, but we want to serve more children living in vulnerable conditions,” said Ms. Medina.
She noted that the Club was founded 13 years ago as a space to support at-risk youth, providing instruction in arts, academics, and sports.
Since its inception, many Rosarito children have thrived thanks to the Club—excelling in science and the arts while staying away from addictions and harmful distractions.
Enrollment is now open, with a registration fee of 100 pesos and a monthly contribution of 100 pesos.
