The Rosarito Rotary Club has donated 500,000 pesos for the reconstruction of homes for fire victims in Primo Tapia.

The funds will be equally distributed among the 13 affected families and will be provided in kind, including construction materials and household appliances.

To select the beneficiaries, Rotary members conducted on-site visits to assess losses and needs, as well as to determine what aid had already been received from the government.

“We contacted the 11 previously registered homes and added two more. During the visits, we were able to see the progress made in some of the homes that had received initial support from the authorities. We also quantified the materials we need to contribute so these families can return to what was once their home,” said Armando Ramírez Muñoz.

He emphasized that this initiative is the result of a joint effort by the Playas de Rosarito Rotary Club, particularly Adolfo Tejeda Llamas, who serves as the District Governor’s Assistant.

The donation comes from a Rotary district grant promoted by the Rosarito Rotary Club, led by Rolando Quintero. The funds do not go directly to the victims or the Rotary Club but instead to the suppliers of the materials and appliances to be purchased.

“These actions reflect the altruistic spirit of Rotary International, which is always committed to providing support in times of crisis,” he said. “We conducted visits to understand firsthand the needs of the victims and reviewed the aid they had already received from the government and other organizations.

“The goal is to invest in what they truly need, avoiding duplicated efforts. The resources will be allocated efficiently and as quickly as possible so that the affected families can rebuild their homes and return to normal life without unnecessary delays.”
