Rosarito’s Department of Education has launched the D.A.R.E. Program, targeting 12 elementary schools to educate and prevent students from engaging in harmful drug use. The initiative is expected to benefit over 700 students.
The program’s launch took place at Quinto Municipio Elementary School, located in the Plan Libertador expansion area, one of the city’s neighborhoods with the highest crime rates.
D.A.R.E. sessions will be provided to fifth and sixth-grade students over a three-month period. Trained officers will deliver workshops focused on the negative effects of substances like tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.
Jessica Jesús Zavala Sámano, Rosarito’s Education Delegate, highlighted the program’s importance, emphasizing its role in guiding children on how to respond when faced with situations involving violence, crime, or substance abuse.
