Staff at the new Clínica Bienestar in Primo Tapia announced that its services are open to the entire population, regardless of whether patients are beneficiaries of another social security institution.

Individuals affiliated with Seguro Social or ISSSTECALI may also receive free care at this new medical facility, located across from Los Arenales.

Although the clinic does not offer emergency services—a long-standing request from residents in the southern part of the city—it does provide family medical consultations, dental care, optometry services and eyeglasses, Pap smears, ultrasounds, laboratory services, and a pharmacy, among others.

To receive care, patients only need to present a copy of an official ID, preferably a voter ID card, which will be used to create their medical file.

Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will remain closed on Sundays, as no emergency services are available.

The property housing the new medical unit is shared with the Primo Tapia Red Cross station; however, it also does not provide emergency medical care—only ambulance transport.

It remains unclear whether the community’s effort to secure a general hospital or medical facility with emergency services is still ongoing.
