Organized by the Rosarito Rotary Club, the fifth edition of Opera a la Mexicana delivered a captivating evening filled with extraordinary talent on Saturday, November 8, at the Rosarito State Center for the Arts (CEART). The charity event raised funds to support children and youth in Rosarito through scholarships for arts and culture workshops at CEART.

Sponsors, along with civic and government organizations, helped make the event possible, all united by a common mission: expanding cultural and educational opportunities for local families.

“It is an honor for me to represent our Rosarito Rotary Club and to be part of the 46,000 Rotary Clubs around the world that come together as brothers and sisters to foster peace, bring essential services to vulnerable communities, and always work for the greater good.

“I deeply appreciate every individual, as well as the civic and government institutions, that make events like this possible. Our special thanks go to CEART for opening its facilities to us, and to municipal authorities for granting the permits needed to hold such a highly anticipated event,” said Rosario Castillo Zeja, president of the Rosarito Rotary Club, during the concert’s opening remarks.

This year’s lineup of Opera a la Mexicana featured renowned performers including soprano Norma Navarrete, baritone Jorge Chinolla, soprano Kyra Liz, and Guillermo Montecinos, among others. Their program highlighted iconic songs made famous by Mexican artists, such as Deja que salga la luna, Un mundo raro, La bikina, La malagueña, Amanecí otra vez, México lindo y querido, Cielo rojo, and Amor de mis amores/María bonita. The performances took the audience on a musical journey through Mexico’s rich cultural heritage.
