The mayor of Playas de Rosarito, Rocío Adame Muñoz, led a high-level meeting with Mexico’s federal tourism ministry to review a portfolio of strategic investment projects expected to transform the city’s development as a destination.

Adame was joined by Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez, head of the Tourism Innovation, Sustainability and Professionalization Unit, and Marcela Camacho, director general of Tourism Innovation and Product Development. Together with the municipal government, they examined initiatives designed to boost Rosarito’s competitiveness in the tourism sector.

As part of the agenda, Rosarito’s secretary of economic development and tourism, Irán Leonardo Verdugo, presented an integrated vision for the projects, which include:

  • Mobility infrastructure, to improve connectivity and accessibility.
  • Maritime and land infrastructure, to diversify the tourism offering.
  • Urban and rural facilities, to enhance quality of life in host communities.
  • Urban image improvements, to create more attractive and functional public spaces.

Adame emphasized that these efforts aim to ensure tourism also acts as a driver of community development by translating investment into social well-being, jobs, and greater opportunities for local families.

“We are working to make sure every tourism project has a real impact on our people. Rosarito is a city with enormous potential, and with the strength of our community we will build a more competitive, attractive, and fair destination,” the mayor said.

Through this meeting, Playas de Rosarito reaffirmed its commitment to advancing alongside Mexico’s tourism ministry, focusing on projects that strengthen the city’s vocation as a destination and consolidate its leadership in Baja California and across the country.
