The Asociación Pro Bomberos Rosarito (APBR) held a productive meeting with the new board of Ejido Mazatlán to reaffirm their collaborative agreement in support of the local community.

Marco Esponda, president of the APBR Council, emphasized that a central focus of the meeting was advancing the project for a new fire station in the northern part of the municipality. “This joint initiative is a key effort to enhance safety, promote local development, and strengthen community ties,” he said.

The proposed station aims to expand emergency service coverage and provide a faster, more efficient response to the needs of 23 neighborhoods and businesses in northern Rosarito, including the industrial maquiladora sector and a growing number of recently established commercial establishments.

Briza Guerrero, APBR’s general director, noted that the meeting also served to strengthen ties with the new board members, who confirmed that the Ejido’s directors have approved the land for the project. Details regarding the site will be shared in the coming days.

Guerrero added that the plan is for the station to be a fully donated project, at least in its basic form, with logistics handled by the municipal fire department. The association is also in talks with the Municipal Planning Institute to support the architectural design, potentially involving students from the Autonomous University of Baja California’s Architecture program.

Luis Morales Reyes, president of the Ejido Mazatlán Board, expressed gratitude to APBR for their willingness to continue collaborating. Both parties agreed that combining efforts will strengthen the community as a whole.
