During her visit to Mexico City, Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz took part in the signing of a collaboration agreement between the National Institute for Federalism and Municipal Development (INAFED) and IMSS-Bienestar, Mexico’s public health program for uninsured citizens.
The agreement aims to strengthen healthcare access for millions of Mexicans who currently lack social security coverage.
The signing ceremony was led by Secretary of the Interior Rosa Icela Rodríguez, INAFED coordinator Armando Quintero Martínez, and IMSS-Bienestar health director Alejandro Svarch Pérez.
In her remarks, Mayor Adame Muñoz emphasized the key role municipalities must play in registering individuals without medical coverage and coordinating with federal authorities to ensure timely and dignified healthcare services.
“This agreement gives us the tools to ensure that no resident of Rosarito is left out of the healthcare system,” the mayor said.
With the signing of this national agreement, Rosarito will now receive greater institutional support to identify, register, and refer residents without healthcare coverage to the IMSS-Bienestar program. The initiative ensures free access not only to medical services, but also to medications, hospital care, and preventive health actions—directly improving the quality of life for thousands of families in the municipality.
